In the AI Agent Handbook of TeamPal, you’ll find everything you need to master your agents.

Where Can You Get Your Agents?

Agent Library

To kick things off, head to the Agent Library from the main menu—it’s like the secret menu for AI aficionados. Here, you can browse over 80 templates designed for various departmental needs.

To add a new agent to your workspace, click on an agent profile you like to customize. Just a few clicks, plus credits, and voilà! The agent is yours!

Create a New Agent

If your needs are as unique as an Operations team’s coffee preferences (and we know how particular those can be), consider creating a new agent from scratch.

Click Create agent on the homepage and tailor your agent’s role and tasks

Customize the agent’s settings to match your specific needs:After clicking Create new, your new agent will show up in the designated folder.

Then, you can customize your agent further and start streamlining your operations.

How to Use Your Agents Effectively

Once you’ve selected or created your AI agents, it’s crucial to know how to use them effectively to maximize their potential. Here are some key strategies to ensure you get the best results from your TeamPal agents:

Understand Your Agent’s Capabilities

  • Familiarize yourself with your agent’s specific skills and knowledge areas.

  • Review the agent’s description and any provided documentation to understand its limitations and strengths.

Use Clear and Specific Prompts

  • When interacting with your agent, be as clear and specific as possible in your requests.

  • Provide context and necessary details to help the agent understand your needs better.

For example, instead of asking, “How can I improve my marketing?” try to ask, “What are three data-driven strategies to improve email open rates for a B2B SaaS company?”

Break Down Complex Tasks

  • If you have a large or complex task, break it down into smaller, manageable steps.

  • Ask your agent to tackle each step separately for more focused and accurate results.

For example, for a product launch strategy, you can, in turn, prompt:

  • “What are the key components of a successful product launch strategy?”

  • “How should we structure our pre-launch marketing campaign?”

  • “What metrics should we track during the first month after launch?”

Utilize Follow-up Questions

  • If the agent’s initial response doesn’t fully address your needs, don’t hesitate to ask follow-up questions.

  • Use phrases like “Can you elaborate on…” or “Please provide more details about…” to get more comprehensive information.

For example, if your initial prompt is "What are the benefits of implementing a customer loyalty program?" your follow-up question can be “Can you provide specific examples of successful loyalty programs in the retail industry?”

Leverage the Agent’s Knowledge Base

  • If you’ve customized your agent with specific knowledge, refer to that information in your prompts.

For instance, “Based on our company’s Q2 sales data, what trends do you notice?” or “Based on our company’s employee satisfaction survey results from last quarter, what are three actionable steps we can take to improve team morale?”

Experiment with Different Prompting Techniques

Try various prompting styles to see which works best for your needs:

  • Chain-of-thought: Guide the agent through a step-by-step reasoning process.

Sample prompt: "Let’s approach this step-by-step:

1. What are the current trends in social media marketing?

2. How do these trends apply to our target demographic?

Based on this, what should our social media strategy look like for the next quarter?"

  • Few-shot learning: Provide a few examples of the type of response you’re looking for.

Sample prompt: "I need to write professional email responses. Here are two examples:

Example 1:

Request: Can we reschedule our meeting?

Response: Certainly, I’d be happy to reschedule our meeting. Please let me know a few time slots that work well for you next week, and I’ll confirm my availability.

Example 2:

Request: Do you have the Q3 report ready?

Response: Thank you for your inquiry about the Q3 report. I’m currently finalizing the document and will have it ready for review by end of day tomorrow. I appreciate your patience.

Now, please draft a response to this request: Can you provide an update on the project status?"

  • Role-playing: Ask the agent to assume a specific role or perspective when answering.

Sample prompt: “Assume you are a senior financial advisor. What advice would you give to a tech startup looking to secure its first round of venture capital funding?”

Refine and Iterate

  • If you’re not satisfied with an output, try rephrasing your prompt or providing additional context.

  • Learn from successful interactions and apply those techniques in future prompts.

For instance, if your initial prompt is “Give me ideas for team-building activities.”, its refined version can be “Suggest 5 virtual team-building activities suitable for a remote marketing team of 15 people, with a focus on improving communication and creativity.”

Combine Human Insight with AI Capabilities

  • Use your agent as a collaborative tool rather than a replacement for human expertise.

  • Critically evaluate the agent’s outputs and combine them with your own knowledge and judgment.

Regular Maintenance and Updates

  • Periodically review and update your agent’s knowledge base to ensure it remains current and relevant.

  • Pay attention to any changes or updates in the TeamPal platform that might enhance your agent’s capabilities.

Ethical Considerations

  • Always use your agents in compliance with your organization’s ethical guidelines and data protection policies.

  • Be mindful of privacy concerns when inputting sensitive information.

These guidelines will help you harness the full potential of your TeamPal agents, leading to more efficient operations, better decision-making, and enhanced productivity across your organization. Remember, the key to success with AI agents is clear communication, continuous learning, and thoughtful application of their capabilities to your specific business needs.
