Modified on Wed, 19 Mar at 11:05 AM

What is it & How Does it Help?

Custom Task is TeamPal's answer to personalized workflow management. It allows you to create, save, and reuse tailored prompt tasks that fit your unique needs. Here's why it's a game-changer:

  • Time-saving: No more retyping the same prompts repeatedly. Save your optimized templates and reuse them with a few clicks. And even if you want to further optimize the prompt template, it will only take you a few minutes to edit the tasks!

  • Consistency: Ensure all team members use the same high-quality prompts for similar tasks. Your hard-earned knowledge in crafting effective prompts is now easily accessible and shareable.

How to Use Custom Task

Where to Access

You'll find the Custom Task feature in two convenient locations:

Edit Tasks

Your optimized prompts can be optimized more, if you’d like. Simply click on the prompt you want to edit in the Task section:

Make any necessary adjustments, preview the final template, and click Save change.

Use Cases

Custom Task's versatility makes it valuable no matter which direction you choose to use it. Here are some helpful methods to manage your custom tasks.

Project-based

Create custom tasks for a project or campaign your team’s got going on:

  • Project Planning: Create a custom task for project planning that includes setting objectives, defining milestones, and allocating resources. Use this task as a template for all new projects.

  • Status Updates: Develop a custom task for weekly project status updates, detailing what needs to be reported and how.

  • Risk Management: Set up a custom task for identifying and mitigating project risks, with steps for risk assessment and contingency planning. Share this task with the project team for collaborative risk management, ensuring all potential issues are addressed.

  • Project Closure: Create a series of custom tasks for project closure activities, including final deliverables, documentation, and lessons learned.

  • Naming convention:

    • If the task is standard to all project: [Project-based] Name of the task

    • If the task is unique to one project: [Project name] Name of the task

Department-based

This approach is likely similar to your current use of TeamPal, where you create custom tasks tailored to each department. It's particularly useful when our library doesn't have a prompt template for your specific task.

To keep things organized, use this naming convention: [Department name] Name of the task.

Product-based or Service-based

If your company runs a multi-product or multi-service business model, this method is extremely useful:

  • Customer Education Program: Create a custom task to develop and implement customer education programs tailored to Product A, ensuring users understand its unique features. This can be used for a complex product that requires a whole education program.

  • Customer Retention Strategy: Develop a series of custom tasks focused on strategies to retain customers for each product. For example, an SAAS business owning both freemium apps and paid app with free trial will need different task templates to plan and execute retention strategy.

  • Naming convention: [Product name] Name of the task.
